This year Jefferson Volunteer Fire Company made several stops through out the first due promoting fire prevention. The company made stops at Valley Elementary School for the Pre-K and Kindergarten classes, Educare, and Stepping stone daycare. A209 and E201 went to the locations and talked to the kids about fire safety, smoke detectors, talked to the kids about the ambulance and engine and let them walk through the units, and them did a friendly firefighter demonstration dressing up as a firefighter and telling the kids firefighters are their friends and to not be scared of them last thing was teaching the kids how to properly stop drop and roll in case of a fire. Thank you to all the career staff and volunteers for taking their time to go out and inform the kids about fire safety |
