JVFC held water supply drill
Wednesday, May 27, 2009
-
The drill that was rained out two consecutive times and was finally held at the firehouse last night. Due to the amount of areas around the Jefferson community that are without a water source we decided to have a water supply drill for the members to get refreshed on water supply. It was a good turnout from the members. It all started around 7pm with a classroom overview that was presented by Captain Quig the pump master. After all was briefed on the game plan we all geared up and pulled all the trucks out. We started out with ET 204 laying a supply line from the pavilion up to the firehouse of about 400 feet of 4". ET 204 then set up a fill site in front of the firehouse. Tanker 20 then Quickly set up there folding tank for a dump site. While Tanker 20 filled up the supply line with there tank water, Engine 201 delivered there water into the first portable tank. As the tanker started to pull a draft and flow water to the fill site ET 204 hooked up and started to fill up. After things got moving ET 204 with a full load of  water came back to the dump site and dumped there water. While ET 204 driver dumped his load the crew pull the second folding tank from ET 204 and began to set up a dual folding tank operation while E 201 went to the fill site for more water.

After about  4 loads water we broke it down and started again with ET 204 at the draft site and Tanker 20 shuttling water all the units got utilized all night. Everything went well we flowed alot of water and got a good refresher course on water supply. After clean up we were all done by 10:30pm

Jefferson units E201 ET 204 Tanker 20 Rescue Squad 20 and Brush 205 even had some draft time.

Here are some pics
